The mission of the General Council of Aude is to make the historical and architectural inheritance of our area a way to improve the everyday life of its inhabitants.

The notion of “Pays cathare” (Cathar country) not only includes the promotion of touristic places such as castles, cities and abbeys. It is also a collective label gathering local farmers, craftsmen, vine growers and tradesmen, willing to offer goods and services of quality and authenticity to people.
